Like LAIKA Studios’ other films (Coraline, ParaNorman), Missing Link looks like it’s full of heart, adventure, and stunning visuals, thanks to its artful stop-motion animation. Mr. Link (Zach Galifianakis), a bigfoot of sorts, has grown lonely on our side of the world, and asks renowned adventurer Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman), to journey with him to find his distant cousins, the Yeti. LAIKA has stated that their goal is to avoid the trend of franchises, remakes and reboots, and to commit to telling new and original stories, and, certainly, Missing Link, with its combination of dry humor and industry-leading animation, doesn’t look like anything we’ve ever seen before.
Missing Link writer and director, Chris Butler, sat down with us at LAIKA Studios to give us the scoop on how Mr. Link’s world was brought to life.
